RULES OF THE SENIOR WATER POLO COMPETITION

1701 SENIOR WATER POLO COMPETITION

1701.1 The Senior Water Polo League Competition shall take place annually between 1 st March and 31 st October

1701.2 Clubs shall meet each other twice (home and away) each season

1701.3 Entry fee shall be £18.00 to be paid before the end of January

1701.4 Each Club shall be required, before the end of January, to submit the time at which they propose to commence league fixtures for approval of Council. These times to be confirmed or amended at the first meeting of the Council then circulated in the Handbook and thereupon become part of the By-Laws of the Association.

1701.5 Any Club causing a contest to commence late must be reported to the Association and such Clubs be fined £25.00, if unable to show just cause.

N.B. The before going to apply to home or away teams.

1701.6 The fixtures shall be arranged prior to the February Council Meeting, and all Clubs must hand to the Association Secretary a list of fixtures prior to this meeting. Any Club failing to do so shall be fined £25.00.

1701.7 A list of persons competent to act as Referees shall be adopted at the Annual General Meeting but additions may be made at any ordinary meeting of the Council. Any Club competing in the Senior Water Polo League must have at least one active Water Polo Referee on this list or pay a fine of £25.00.

1701.8 Referees shall be appointed by the Association Secretary. The home team shall pay him his expenses, as defined in A.S.A. Laws. Clubs failing to comply with this By-Law shall be fined £25.00 in addition to the Referee's Expenses. No Referee shall act as such in a competition in which his own Club is taking part, unless by the consent of both teams, such consent shall be in writing. N.B. – This By-Law shall not apply to the Association Secretary if he is on the list of Official Referees

1701.9 Maximum Admittance Charge at Galas - £1.00 (including Programme)

1701.10 Home Club shall be responsible for confirming fixtures with all appointed officials seven days prior to the fixture. In the event of the Home Club not being able to contact any of the appointed officials personally or any of the appointed officials being not available, the Home Club shall report the facts to the Association Secretary six days prior to the fixture. The penalty for any breach of this Rule shall be £25.00.

1701.11 Home Clubs in Water Polo fixtures shall be responsible for providing adequate Timekeepers, Secretaries, Scoreboard and Water Polo equipment. Any Club in Water Polo fixtures shall provide their own Water Polo caps. The penalty for any breach of this By-Law shall be £25.00.

1701.12 The Team Manager or Captain will furnish the Referee, prior to the start of the match, with a completed Team Sheet and a certificate confirming By-Laws 2101.1, 2101.2 and 2101.3 have been complied with. The Home Club must forward the Team Sheets and certificates, together with the Result Sheets, within seven days to the Association Secretary, who shall keep a record of all competitors taking part in the Association Competitions. Clubs failing to comply with this By-Law shall be fined £25.00.

1701.13 A Club failing to fulfil any of its fixtures without just cause on the date fixed shall be fined £25.00 and the points awarded to the opposing teams.

1701.14 All protests against the eligibility of a competitor shall be forwarded within seven days of the match to the Association Secretary, accompanied by a fee of £25.00. Such fee shall be forfeited if the protest be considered frivolous. The protesting Club must notify the Referee within 30 minutes of the conclusion of the contest.

1701.15 Any Club found guilty of including an ineligible competitor for any fixture shall be fined £25.00 and the points awarded to the opposing teams

1701.16 Cases arising out of breaches of By-Laws of this Association, or in connection with the fixtures which transpire before the end of each month, shall be decided in the presence or absence of those concerned at the following Council Meeting. Fines inflicted must be paid within 21 days, failing which, the Club concerned shall take no further part in any competitions or business of this Association until the fines are paid.

1701.17 Points awarded in the Senior Water Polo League Competition shall be two points for a win and one point for a draw.

1701.18 The League Champions and Runners-up of the Senior Water Polo Competition shall be presented with a set of Medals (13), or other mementos, of such value as the Council shall determine.

1701.19 In the event of a tie for first place at the end of the season, the Clubs concerned in the tie shall be declared Joint Champions with no Runners-up being declared. In the event of more than one Club tieing for Second Place the Clubs concerned in the tie shall be declared Joint Runners-up.

1701.20 In the event of a Club withdrawing or being suspended from the League during the season, their record of points shall be expunged from the League tables.

WATER POLO TOURNAMENTS

2001 WATER POLO TOURNAMENTS

ACADEMY UNDER 14's YOUTH UNDER 16's GENTS UNDER 18's

GENTS UNDER 20's GENTS SENIOR

2001.1 The tournaments shall take place annually between 1 ST March and 31 st October and shall be open to all affiliated Clubs who may enter one team in each tournament and only players who are members of that Club shall be eligible.

2001.2 Entries must be forwarded to the Association Secretary accompanied by a fee of £18.00.

2001.3 Entries close 28 days prior to date of the tournament.

2001.4 The competing players must be drawn from the 13 players named to the Recorder immediately prior to the commencement of the tournament.

2001.5 Association Secretary to arrange composition of the tournament in accordance with the number of teams entered.

2001.6 Referees, Timekeepers, Goal Judges and Secretaries for all matches will be appointed by Association.

2001.7 Each team will appoint a Team Manager who will be responsible for his team being ready to enter the water 5 minutes before the end of the preceding match.

2001.8 Each team must provide their own Water Polo Caps.

2001.9 Team Captains will toss for choice of ends. The toss must be made (in the presence of the Referee) before the preceding game has finished.

2001.10 Teams must be ready to enter the water immediately upon the conclusion of the previous match or deemed to be absent and subject to disqualification from the competition. Teams must leave the water immediately upon the conclusion of their match.

2001.11 The duration of the games will be arranged by the Association Secretary according to the number of teams entered.

2001.12 A Club entering a Tournament and failing to compete shall pay a fine of £25.00 plus expenses incurred if unable to show just cause.

2001.13 Any player excluded without substitution in any game during the Tournament will not be allowed to take part in any further part of the Tournament.

2001.14 Any contingency or complaint arising and not covered by these By-Laws will be dealt with by Council or the Complaints Committee designated for the Tournament.

2001.15 Under 14's to be under 14, Under 16's to be under 16, Under 18's to be under 18 and Under 20's to be under 20 on 31 st December in the year of competition.

RULE FOR THE YOUTH UNDER 16’s AND GENTS UNDER 20’s WATER POLO WINTER LEAGUE COMPETITIONS

1801 WATER POLO WINTER LEAGUE COMPETITIONS

YOUTH UNDER 16's GENTS UNDER 20's

1801.1The competitions shall be open to all affiliated Clubs, who may enter one team in each competition and only players who are members of that Club shall be eligible.

1801.2 The competition shall take place annually between 1 st January and 30 th April and under control of the Council.

1801.3 Entries to be forwarded to the Association Secretary by 1 st January in year of competition accompanied by a fee of £18.00.

1801.4 Clubs shall meet each other twice (home and away) each season.

1801.5 Clubs shall mutually arrange fixtures and send to the Association Secretary a list of their fixtures not later than the end of January. Any Club failing to do so shall be fined £25.00

1801.6 Under 16's to be under 16 on 31 st December in year of competition

1801.7 Under 20's to be under 20 on 31 st December in year of competition

1801.8 Referees shall be appointed by the Association Secretary. The home team shall pay him his expenses, as defined in A.S.A. Laws. Clubs failing to comply with this By-Law shall be fined £25.00 in addition to the Referee's Expenses. 1901.1 The competitions shall take place annually between March 1 st and October 31 st , and shall be open to all affiliated Clubs who may enter one team in each competition, and only players who are members of that Club shall be eligible to play.

1901.2 Entries must be delivered to the Association Secretary accompanied by a fee of £18.00 not later than the end of January for each competition.

1901.3 The draw for the competitions shall be made at the time of the February Council Meeting.

1901.4 The dates for the completions of the various rounds shall be fixed by the Council and must be strictly adhered to.

1901.5 Association Secretary shall notify Clubs of their opponents and Clubs shall, within 14 days of this notification, confirm (in writing) to the Association Secretary the date of their mutually agreed fixtures. Clubs failing to comply with this By-Law shall be fined £25.00.

1901.14 For the Final, the Association shall arrange the venue, appoint officials and pay their expenses.

1901.15 All matches shall be played to a finish. Should the score be level at full time, there will be an interval of five minutes. There shall then be played two periods, each of three minutes of actual play, with an interval of one minute to change ends. If at the end of extra time the score is still level, there will be a penalty shoot out to determine the result.

1901.16 The Winners and Runners-up of the Competition shall receive mementos (13) of such value as the Council shall determine. When a player taking part in the Final of the Competition is excluded without substitution, the memento to which he may be entitled. Shall be withheld pending the discretion of the Council.

1901.17 Unless there is sufficient number of entries, the Council may decide the competition shall not be proceeded with.

1901.18 A Club found guilty of including an ineligible competitor or failing to compete in the preliminary rounds without reasonable notice shall be fined £25.00 and struck out of the competition.

1901.19 Any Club causing the Final to commence late, must be reported to the Association Secretary and shall be fined £25.00 if unable to show just cause.

1901.20 A Club qualifying for the Final and failing to compete, shall pay to the Association a fine of £25.00 plus any expenses incurred and may be struck out of the competition if unable to show just cause.

1901.21 Under 16's players must be under 16, Under 18's players must be under 18 and Under 20's players must be under 20 on 31 st December in the year of competition.
