RULES OF THE JUBILEE JUNIOR
SWIMMING COMPETITION

401 JUBILEE SWIMMING COMPETITION

401.1 The Competition shall take place annually between 1 st March and 31 st October.

401.2 Entry Fee to be £18.00 to be paid by the end of January.

401.3 Entries to be made to the Association Secretary by the end of January.

401.4 Draw to be made at the February Council meeting.

401.5 Association Secretary to arrange composition of the Galas in accordance with the numbers of Clubs entered.

401.6 Clubs in Lane 1 at each Gala to be the Host Clubs unless this Club has already been Host Club, then the Club in next lowest Lane who has not already been a Host Club will be Host Club.

401.7 Host Club to be responsible for cost of bath hire and all arrangements for the gala including provision of programmes. Away Clubs to be responsible for the cost of their own travel.

401.8 Age Groups of swimmers to be as at 31 st October in year of competition.

401.9 Officials to be appointed by the Association Secretary.

401.10 The host Club shall pay the appointed officials their expenses, as defined by ASA Laws. Clubs failing to comply with this By-Law shall be fined £25.00 in addition to the Official's expenses.

401.11 Maximum Admittance Charge at Galas - £1.00 (including Programme)

401.12 Home Club shall be responsible for confirming fixtures with all appointed officials seven days prior to the fixture. In the event of the Home Club not being able to contact any of the appointed officials personally or any of the appointed officials being not available, the Home Club shall report the facts to the Association Secretary six days prior to the fixture. The penalty for any breach of this By-Law shall be £25.00.

401.13 Any Club found guilty of including an ineligible competitor for any fixture shall be fined £25.00 and the points awarded to the opposing teams in the events concerned.

401.14 A Club Official from each Club will furnish the Referee, on the day of the gala with a completed Team Sheet and a certificate confirming By-Law 1001.1 has been complied with. The Home Club must forward the Team Sheets and certificates, together with the Result Sheets, within seven days to the Association Secretary. The penalty for any breach of this By-Law shall be fined £25.00.

401.15 All protests against the eligibility of a competitor shall be forwarded within seven days of the match to the Association Secretary, accompanied by a fee of £25.00. Such fee shall be forfeited if the protest be considered frivolous. The protesting Club must notify the Referee within 30 minutes of the conclusion of the contest.

401.16 Any Club not fulfilling a fixture shall be struck out of the competition and fined £25.00

401.17 Cases arising out of breaches of By-Laws of this Association, or in connection with the fixtures which transpire before the end of each month, shall be decided in the presence or absence of those concerned at the following meeting. Fines inflicted must be paid within 21 days, failing which, the Club concerned shall take no further part in any competitions or business of the Association until the fines are paid.

401.18 Galas to take place on Mondays to Fridays as follows:

1 st Round - First week in March

2 nd round - Third week in May

3 rd Round - First week in July

Finals - Second week in October

(First week in month is the week commencing with the first Monday of the month)

401.19 Age Groups to be:

10 years & under (minimum age 9 years); 11 years & under

12 years & under; 13 years & under

Swimmers may swim in all events in their Age Group or above.

401.20 Distances to be swum:

INDIVIDUAL EVENTS

10 years – 1 length; 12 years & under – 2 lengths

11 years & under – 2 lengths; 13 years & under – 2 lengths

SQUAD EVENTS – 4 x 1 length

401.21 Points System to be:

ALL EVENTS:

1 st - 4 points; 2 nd - 3 points; 3 rd - 2 points ; 4 th - 1 point

All disqualifications to be announced. In the event of a Dead Heat, each competitor involved in the Dead Heat will be awarded the maximum points applicable to the particular placing.

401.22 Gala Points to be awarded:

1 st - 4 points; 2 nd - 3 points; 3 rd - 2 points; 4 th - 1 point

401.23 The competing Clubs in the Top Final Gala will be awarded a Jubilee Shield to hold for twelve months or until the next Jubilee Swimming Competition.

401.24 The teams competing in the Top Final Gala will each be awarded 25 Mementos of such value as the Council shall determine.

401.25 The winning Clubs in the other Final Galas will be awarded a Jubilee Shield to hold for twelve months or until the next Jubilee Swimming Competition.

401.26 In the event of a tie on points in the Top Final Gala, the result will be determined by the number of first places gained, and in the event of there still being equality, then the number of second third or fourth places gained will be taken into consideration.

401.27 In the event of a tie on points in any of the other Final Galas, the Clubs concerned in the tie will hold the Jubilee Trophy jointly.

401.28 Programme of Events to be:
